|Craigslist Email Alerts|

I don't use Craiglist often but when I do I find myself repeatedly visiting them to repeat the same search over and over. This is especially true for items in high demand or items that are rarely available. So I decided to see if there was any way to automate this.
I wanted to be emailed if the results of my searched changed. Turned out this was pretty simple. The first thing I tried was Yahoo Alerts in combination with Craiglist's RSS feed. The RSS feed is available at the bottom of any page after you complete a search. Just copy the link by right-clicking the RSS emblem and select copy link, then paste that link into your Yahoo Alerts. That worked but I didn't really like it. Yahoo has a way of making things not so simple at times. The next one I tried was Notify.me. Their interface is cleaner and way more intuitive. If RSS feeds don't make a lot of sense to you here is a more detail explanation on how to setup an alert with the Notify.me service.
Go to Notify.me and register for an free account. Once you have that setup go to your local area Craiglist and conduct your search. After your search, copy the URL from your browser's address bar. Now go back to Norify.me and paste that URL you just copied into the URL box and click add. From there, you can choose to be notified by instant message, text message to your cellular phone, email, or their application on your smart phone.
If anyone has a better solution leave me a commment!
