On December 13th, an update from Kaspersky Labs servers delivered an object that caused some installations of their software to spontaneously crash. While the issue was detected quickly and fixed in a subsequent update, many machines were stuck in a failure condition. KAV would keep crashing, and new updates could not be retrieved. This is special utility that can surgically repair the situation.

The November 22, 2006 Kaspersky thread signatures update contained an error that can disable KAV6.  If you receive an error like this one pictured here, download and run "CleanUpdCfg.exe" below   (/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_download/gid,17/Itemid,49/) to correct the problem.
